Brats N’ Beer Sauce

Go together like peas and carrots!


1 package Josef’s Bratwurst (any will do, but we recommend the  German Bratwurst)

1- 12oz. bottle of beer (We like a Bach, but feel free to experiment with any lighter German beer)

1 Medium white onion, minced

1 Medium white onion, sliced

1 Bell pepper, sliced

¼ head Green cabbage, sliced

1-2 Pinches, Caraway seed

1 Tablespoon Flour

1 Tablespoon Butter


Begin by browning your minced onion in the butter over medium-high heat. Add flour to the onions and slowly stir in the beer. Reduce heat slightly and add your bratwurst. Cook bratwurst approximately 3-4 minutes on each side, or until brat is golden brown.

In separate pan, sauté your sliced onions, cabbage and peppers. Stir in 1-2 pinches of caraway seeds.

When your bratwurst is finished, place it in a bun and smother it with onions, cabbage and peppers.
