Recognition
In 2016, Josef learned about IFFA, an international meat competition often called the Meat Olympics. The deadline was only weeks away, so there was no time to invent special entries.
Instead, Josef sent products already being made for customers. Fourteen entries went to the judges; twelve earned medals, including eight perfect scores and gold medals.
At the 2019 competition, all twenty entries received medals: sixteen gold and four silver. Josef’s everyday products earned the Cup of Honor at both competitions, a recognition for the high number of gold-medal scores.
"If the products are good enough for our customers, they’re good enough for the judges."

The Meat Olympics
IFFA is a week-long international competition held every three years in Frankfurt, Germany and organized by the German Butchers’ Association. A gold score requires a perfect 100 points from the judging panel.
While many competitors develop recipes specifically for the event, Josef enters the same products customers find every day—an honest measure of craft, quality, and skill.
